Fourier Transform InfraRed spectroscopy (FTIR) is an analysis technique allowing the absorption spectrum of a solid or liquid sample to be obtained in the mid-infrared spectral region (400 - 4000 cm-1).
The analysis of this spectrum makes it possible to identify the functional groups present and therefore to identify the composition of a sample from a spectral database.

Avantages

  • Quick analysis method
  • Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) mode provides surface information with little or no sample preparation
  • Identification of molecules using numerous spectral databases
