On 23 November 2023 from 3.30pm, Materia Nova, as the UMONS Innovation centre, invites you to come and discover:

👉its remarkable new surface treatment and characterisation equipment
👉its new facilities

The Materia Nova research centre is first and foremost a technology accelerator for responsible innovation in materials and processes.

Since it was founded over 20 years ago, the centre has been involved in a number of ambitious collaborative projects with industry in sectors as diverse as space, aeronautics, luxury goods, agri-food, transport and biomedical, to name but a few.

Its expertise in coatings and surface treatments, polymers and composites, and biotechnology encourages the development of new functional performances for materials to meet the challenges of current and future energy and environmental transitions.

The centre continues to develop in order to better meet the expectations of industrialists: not only does it have a new building dedicated to plasma treatments and applications, but it also has new facilities for polymer and materials treatment services as well as new equipment with exceptional performance in surface treatments and analysis:
– Oerlikon’s Domino Kila Flex PVD deposition system
– A latest-generation ToF-SIMS spectrometer (M6 developed by IONTOF) coupled to a FIB (Focus Ion Beam).
– An XPS spectrometer unique in Europe (Genesis developed by Physical Electronics).
The afternoon of 23 November will be a festive opportunity to discover the new building, the remarkable range of equipment and the new facilities, but also to meet the scientific and technical experts who make Materia Nova a major player in the development and strengthening of the Hainuyer materials ecosystem, whose influence extends far beyond our borders.
