PREVENTING RISKS

Health is a major issue for our society. Materia Nova wants to make a significant contribution to reducing the risks of contamination and waste, with the aim of improving the well-being and protection of citizens. To this end, Materia Nova develops and offers manufacturers its expertise in a range of medical and (bio)medical devices:

  • detection and diagnostic systems: (bio)sensors, such as an electronic nose for early detection of lung cancer via patients' breath, or electrode array implants for monitoring epileptic seizures,
  • the development of delivery systems for active ingredients, whether natural molecules or drugs,
  • micro- and nanofibrous dressings loaded with micro- and nanocapsules offering antibacterial, antiviral, anticoagulant and antitumor properties,
  • the creation of (semi)resorbable implants, such as 3D bioresorbable implants for breast reconstruction, bioresorbable knitted threads and meshes for the treatment of genital prolapse, or antibacterial PU-thermoplastic catheters,
  • the development of shape memory systems that respond to thermal, light or electrical stimuli,
  • plasma-grafted deposits for the vascularization of medical implants,
  • the development of filtration systems, including filters for building ventilation with antiviral and CO2 capture functions, as well as antimicrobial bio-sourced surgical masks.
