Project

HECO2 – ELECTROLYSE

  • Start of the project : 07/2022
  • End of the project : 06/2026

In the context of achieving the EU's climate neutrality objective by 2050, the Walloon Government has set up new initiatives in the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The HECO2 project is composed of 5 axes, of which ELECTROLYSE is axis 2: it focuses mainly on the generation of decarbonated hydrogen by electrolysis, whose use in industrial processes constitutes an alternative to fossil fuels.

The primary objective of the project is to improve the performance of water electrolysis in order to produce green hydrogen in the best technical and economic conditions, as well as to develop containerised solutions in order to facilitate the use of green hydrogen.
