Project

VALPREMA 3D

  • Start of the project : 01-01-19
  • End of project : 31-12-20

The VALPREMA-3D project aims to valorise recycled tyres as a starting component for the production of multifunctional materials by 3D printing. It is therefore a question of giving a second life to these tyres used as additives in polymer composite materials, intended for additive manufacturing. The objective of the project is to develop the best formulations, capable of being implemented by 3D printing SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) and FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication), in order to produce high-performance, economical and customised technical materials.

Materia Nova's "Polymeric Materials and Composites (SMPC)" laboratory is very active in the development of polymeric materials with low environmental impact. Its activities cover a wide range of research, from the synthesis of monomers to the production of polymers with specific properties and their characterisation. The range of technical and scientific skills available within the SMPC enables it to intervene in all the key stages of the development and life of materials, from their synthesis to their end of life. Thanks to its remarkable range of instruments, Materia Nova is able to cover all these application areas, which are the modification and characterisation processes of polymeric materials, but also thanks to the expertise of its researchers and engineers.

In this project, Materia Nova is responsible for the coordination and execution of all project tasks.
