Self-regenerating / self-healing
Thanks to the presence of specific chemical functions, the material has self-repairing properties and is able to fight against mechanical damage (cracks) that it may suffer during use, repairing itself and thus continuing to fulfil its role as a protective layer.
The doping of materials with inhibiting compounds allows, in the event of damage and exposure of the substrate, their release and the sealing of the defect.
