Eco-circular thermosetting resins (Thermosets)
Thermoset organic resins (epoxy, phenolic, PU, acrylic, etc.) are widely used in all sectors of activity. They are found in the compositions/formulations of paints, coatings, adhesives, joints, composite matrices, encapsulating agents, etc.
Materia Nova can help you reformulate, design and/or develop resins in line with new European environmental regulations. More specifically, MATERIA NOVA can help you develop solutions without bisphenol A, without isocyanate, without halogen, without VOC… MATERIA NOVA can also help you make your thermosetting systems circular (i.e. repairable and recyclable) or provide them with new functionalities ( electrical, thermal, antifungal, anti-scratch properties, etc.). All this thanks to its expertise in synthesis and formulation.
For solutions requiring high thermal resistance, MATERIA NOVA works in particular on the transformation of natural phenolic compounds and derivatives from lignin and cellulose (benzoxazine resins). These reformulations can also incorporate natural fillers (cork, fibres or agricultural residues) to strengthen the bio-based character and adjust the mechanical or aesthetic properties of the final material.

MATERIA NOVA also works on the transformation of proteins and its derivatives and the functionalization of vegetable oils using processes with low environmental impact.
Our strengths :
- MATERIA NOVA has all the skills and equipment necessary to support and help you in your resin developments.
- MATERIA NOVA also works on the transformation of proteins and its derivatives and the functionalization of vegetable oils using processes with low environmental impact.
